The name Sertoma is an acronym derived from its mission: SERvice TO MAnkind.
This local chapter was established as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt social organization on July 18, 1953. The club's mission is to provide community services with a primary focus on promoting Hearing Health awareness. The club collaborates with many local agencies and organizations throughout York County to provide both financial and volunteer resources to enhance the quality of life for our neighbors with hearing loss and those with other basic needs.

In addition to club-sponsored service opportunities The Sertoma Club of York partners with local community organizations to provide service opportunities such as:

What is included with membership dues?
Member dues cover local, district and international dues for operating expenses and affiliation costs. Member dues also include meals at bi-weekly meetings and social events.
What does the club do with money raised through fundraising and club dues?
All net funds raised by the club are used and distributed locally in York County to support community organizations and our mission of hearing health awareness. No funds raised leave York County.
What happens at bi-weekly meetings?
Bi-weekly meetings include an agenda of business, a meal and informative programming covering a vast continuum of topics.
Can I involve my spouse and children?
Your family is more than welcome at all social activities and club events. These events are intentionally planned around family involvement. Additionally, we offer special spousal membership rates in order to encourage married couples to join and serve together.
