What service opportunities are provided with membership?
In addition to club-sponsored service opportunities The Sertoma Club of York partners with local community organizations to provide service opportunities such as:
- Providing free hearing screenings for young children.
- Collecting and distributing books to current and veteran service men and women of our Armed Forces.
- Promoting early childhood education and reading.
- Supporting fundraising efforts on behalf of organizations sharing our mission.
What social opportunities and events does the club offer?
The club offers an array of social activities, events and opportunities such as bi-weekly meetings, holiday parties and picnics, and access to local, regional and national Sertoma events and conferences.
What is included with membership dues?
Member dues cover local, district and international dues for operating expenses and affiliation costs. Member dues also include meals at bi-weekly meetings and social events.
What does the club do with money raised through fundraising and club dues?
All net funds raised by the club are used and distributed locally in York County to support community organizations and our mission of hearing health awareness. No funds raised leave York County.
What happens at bi-weekly meetings?
Bi-weekly meetings include an agenda of business, a meal and informative programming covering a vast continuum of topics.
Can I involve my spouse and children?
Your family is more than welcome at all social activities and club events. These events are intentionally planned around family involvement. Additionally, we offer special spousal membership rates in order to encourage married couples to join and serve together.
